Fotografie Gabriella SimoneI’ve spent a few days in Montréal, Canada. As part of my job I work on projects and designs for new concept stores and when I travel for work I always make sure to find time to visit the city or the town where I am staying and look for its special little places in order to better understand how the local architectural choices may inflence me in my job and futere creations. Montreal is a very bright city with wonderful lights, it is very spacious and lively; I was struck by the positive energy I felt and by the positive thinking I could percive by the people who live there. As in any very big city (metropolis) I found, two different retail concept stores: one is a proper shopping mole and the other one happens to be the shopping area right in the city center. And very different indeed they are but somehow very well integrated as well, with some very interesting ideas and solutions, above all for shops showing new brands. The architects in Montreal definitely play with the traditional areas they are surronded by as they create and come up with very unusual and original solutions. Montreal surely is a very inspiring city, also when it comes to shopping centers.
